SEATTLE — While the West Seattle Extension is still years away, Sound Transit is taking another small step toward making the 4.1-mile light-rail link a reality.
According to a filing this week with the city of Seattle, the agency is seeking a shoreline substantial development permit to allow for a bi-directional load test for a site at 1001 S.W. Klickitat Way, on Harbor Island just sound of the West Seattle Bridge. This will include installation of a test shaft and grading of about 1,400 cubic yards of material. Once testing is finished, the existing parking will be restored.
