New overpass near JBLM takes shape

Crews installed 13 170-foot-long girders in April, setting the backbone for the new I-5 overpass connecting DuPont and the Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Over the weekend, crews with Washington State Department of Transportation design-builder Guy F. Atkinson Construction removed temporary structures used to form concrete for a new overpass they are building over Interstate 5 near the Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
