SEATTLE — The city of Seattle is celebrating the completion of the Alaskan Way Safety Project, a collaborative partnership between the Seattle Department of Transportation, the Port of Seattle and Cascade Bicycle Club to create a new two-way protected bike lane on the north end of the Seattle waterfront.
The continuous bike lane stretches just over half a mile along the west side of Alaskan Way, between Virginia and Broad streets, closing the cycling gap between Pier 62 and the Olympic Sculpture Park's southern edge.
