Governor declares bridge emergency

SEATTLE — Gov. Bob Ferguson declared an emergency in King and Pierce counties Wednesday following the damage and closure of the White River Bridge between Buckley and Enumclaw.

Ferguson's emergency proclamation allows the state to seek federal funds to reimburse work already underway and future work repairing the state Route 410 bridge that was severely damaged after being struck by a semi-truck on Aug. 18.
