It's ‘do or die' for EV maker Rivian as it breaks ground on $5B plant

  • The company projects the Georgia operation being built by Chicago's Clayco will be able to make 200,000 vehicles yearly starting in 2028.

    Chicago-based Clayco is building the 1,800-acre Georgia plant, with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill as the architect and engineer of record.

    It may seem like a terrible time to build an electric vehicle plant in the United States, but Rivian Automotive leaders say they're confident as the company starts long-delayed work on a $5 billion facility in Georgia.
