Upgrade underway for historic Pier 55 on Seattle waterfront

Contractor Pacific Pile & Marine will replace the pier’s historic wood pilings and aprons with steel pilings and concrete aprons.

If you've walked along the central Seattle waterfront in the last few weeks, you may have noticed an on-barge crane working in Elliott Bay near Argosy Cruises and Starbucks.
