Emergency fixes for SR-162 near Orting

ORTING, Pierce County — Emergency work has resumed on state Route 162 to stabilize an embankment between the roadway and South Prairie Creek.

The Washington State Department of Transportation has an emergency contract with Active Construction for the work on the section of SR-162 near milepost 14. The roadway is closed during the project, which includes installing large boulders and rock.
