State expands disaster assistance

OLYMPIA — Disaster assistance through the state's Individual Assistance program is now available to qualifying residents in Lewis and Pierce Counties who suffered storm and flood damage in December's historic weather event.

The funding was previously only available to people in King, Snohomish, Skagit and Whatcom counties. A total of $2.5 million is available. Grant amounts are based on household size.
