Gov. Ferguson seeks federal funding for flood recovery

Gov. Ferguson’s FEMA request will help rebuild houses damaged in catastrophic flooding (shown here in Chehalis) following a series of atmospheric rivers in December.

Three major rivers — the Skagit, Snohomish, and Cedar — hit their highest levels in recorded history (with 30 more reaching flood stage). A staggering 3,891 homes were damaged. A record 34 state-managed transportation routes, including two interstate and three U.S. highways, were severely impacted.
