Crews begin careful work clearing slide on I-5 south of Bellingham

Interwest Construction can only work during daylight hours due to slope stability concerns.

Washington State Department of Transportation contractor Interwest Construction started emergency work Sunday clearing northbound Interstate 5 south of Bellingham after landslides sent thousands of cubic yards of boulders, trees and other debris across the freeway Thursday night.
