Dakota oil pipeline segment gets OK

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Federal officials have given final approval for a controversial segment of the Dakota Access oil pipeline that crosses the Missouri River.

The decision Thursday by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers means the pipeline, which runs from North Dakota to an Illinois terminal, will continue operating but with extra safety features.
