Seattle area down 2,200 construction jobs amid mixed US market

  • According to an AGC analysis, fewer than half of metro areas saw growth compared to last year.

    Fewer than half of U.S. metro areas saw construction employment increase between March 2025 and March 2026, according to the Associated General Contractors of America's analysis of the latest government employment data.

    Construction jobs were up in 166, or 46%, of metro areas for the year, AGC says. During that time, 151 areas lost jobs, while employment was unchanged in 43 areas.
