Fish passage work brings I-5 bypass, lane reductions — and removal of iconic rock

Crews install a new fish-passable structure beneath northbound I-5 about 20 miles south of Bellingham near Alger in mid-May.

Crews are gutting fish barriers along Interstate 5 between Burlington and Bellingham, racing to finish some work ahead of the FIFA World Cup.
