Genesee Playfield restroom has to go

SEATTLE — Plans are moving forward on a restroom replacement project at Genesee Playfield, located at 4316 S. Genesee St.

Seattle Parks and Recreation wants to replace the failing restroom, which sits atop a complicated and unstable site that includes a landfill, storm drainage and major sewer lines. SPR says the difficult underground conditions have driven up both the cost and complexity of the project, requiring careful design to ensure the new facility will be safe and durable for years to come.
