I-405 ped crossing closed after damage

KIRKLAND — The pedestrian bridge over Interstate 405 at Northeast 80th Street in Kirkland has been closed after crews discovered damage believed to be caused by a vehicle striking the structure.

WSDOT said bridge preservation teams identified the issue during routine work, prompting an immediate emergency closure of the crossing. The shutdown took effect June 3, and applies to all users, including pedestrians, cyclists and people using mobility devices.
