$13M for pre-disaster mitigation projects in Washington, Alaska

BOTHELL — FEMA has announced $13.3 million in federal pre-disaster mitigation funding available to Alaska and Washington state, targeting seismic, flood and coastal-erosion risks across multiple communities.

Funding comes from the Fiscal Year 2026 Homeland Security and Further Additional Continuing Appropriations Act, through FEMA's Pre-Disaster Mitigation grant program, which supports projects intended to reduce future disaster losses before they occur.
