I-90 tunnel to close for maintenance

SEATTLE — All eastbound Interstate 90 lanes between Seattle and Mercer Island will close overnight July 17, as Washington State Department of Transportation tunnel maintenance crews perform seasonal inspections and maintenance.

According to WSDOT, maintenance crews will use the closure to conduct fire system testing, lighting repairs, road sweeping and drain cleaning inside the tunnel and along the corridor. The overnight shutdown provides workers with uninterrupted access to the facility while minimizing impacts on daytime traffic.
