BALTIMORE, Md. — The Maryland Transportation Authority has issued a request for qualifications for construction of the main span and marine approaches of the replacement Francis Scott Key Bridge.
The contract covers construction of a new cable-stayed bridge featuring a 1,665-foot main span and 3,365 feet of total bridge length, including two concrete pylons rising 602 feet above the water. The project also includes marine approaches, a vessel-collision protection system, and approach bridges north and south of the navigation channel.
