Construction material costs were largely unchanged in July, though prices remain significantly higher than a year ago and are expected to continue rising in the months ahead, according to an analysis of federal data released Thursday by Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC).
ABC reported that overall construction input prices and nonresidential construction input prices each rose 0.1% from June, based on the latest Producer Price Index data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. On a year-over-year basis, overall construction input prices increased 7.4%, while nonresidential construction input prices climbed 7.2%.
