Some road work to pause for holiday

OLYMPIA — The Washington State Department of Transportation says it will pause most highway construction projects beginning Sept. 4 to help ease congestion during the busy Labor Day weekend travel period.

WSDOT expects significant traffic on several major corridors, including Interstate 90 between North Bend and Cle Elum, Interstate 5 between Lacey and Tacoma, and U.S. 2 near Stevens Pass.
