Wilson issues road safety order

SEATTLE — With the start of school just around the corner, Mayor Katie B. Wilson this week issued a new executive order aiming to accelerate and strengthen Seattle’s Vision Zero road safety efforts.

The order advances existing SDOT priority safety projects, expands tools to reduce dangerous speeds, strengthens coordination across city departments by creating a new interdepartmental team focused on road safety, and sets new timelines and actions to help Seattle reach its goal of ending traffic deaths and serious injuries on city streets by 2030.
