Lakeside plans gym expansion

SEATTLE — Lakeside Middle School moved in the early 1980s from Capitol Hill, from the now landmarked St. Nicholas School building, to North Seattle. It then occupied the Haller Lake School building, acquired from the city, few blocks south of the upper school campus.

Plans emerged this month to partially demolish the middle school gym, at 13510 First Ave. N.E., then add a larger two-story structure to total around 17,000 square feet.
