Construction layoffs fall to all-time low

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Demand for and the supply of construction works were both down in August, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors analysis of data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics' Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey.

ABC found that there were 251,000 job openings in the construction industry on the last day of August, down by 48,000 from the month before but up by 38,000 from the same time last year.
