FEMA launches flood insurance tool

WASHINGTON, D.C. — FEMA has launched a new online tool that allows residents to purchase National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) policies directly through FloodSmart.gov, eliminating the need to work through an agent.

The self-service option is available to residents living in participating NFIP communities, which include thousands of communities nationwide.
