Redmond pipe company coats a niche for itself

  • Using a relatively new technique, engineers were able to salvage the drain pipes of the state Capitol while protecting the iconic dome.

    George Gallant, an American Pipe Lining NW technician, worked on the Capitol project. The company restored the dome's drain pipes without removing them.

    When contractors began repairing the state's earthquake-damaged Capitol, they were under strict orders not to alter the 75-year-old landmark.
