    Today's seasoned construction workers cringe over the lack of safety measures shown in old construction photos of Hoover Dam. In this 1935 photo, workers build the highway across what was then called Boulder Dam. Many didn't have safety equipment.

    BOULDER CITY, Nev. (AP) — On the edge of a sun-baked cliff hundreds of feet above the Colorado River, a worker leans into a jackleg drill and bores a hole for explosives in the solid rock of Black Canyon.
