Vivid Apartments

Vivid Apartments is a new six-story, 33,000-square-foot building at 219 First Ave. N. on Queen Anne, across from Seattle Center.

The $6.8 million project has 45 units, 1,700 square feet of retail and an above-grade parking garage. It was built with five levels of wood-framing on a post-tensioned concrete podium.

Units average 450 square feet, with vinyl-plank flooring, quartz countertops, thermofoil cabinets and floor-to-ceiling windows with views of Elliott Bay, the city skyline, the Space Needle and Seattle Center.

Two courtyards are on the second floor, and there's a rooftop patio with green roof planting trays, solar panels and a dog run.

One construction challenge was the proximity of high voltage powerlines. Wood framing next to the power lines had to be tilted up complete. All framing, windows, envelope and painting had to be done ahead of time and installed in place.
