University of Idaho recently opened the new $51 million Idaho Central Credit Union Arena, situated on the Moscow, Idaho, campus at the north side of the ASUI-Kibbie Activity Center.
The 70,000-square-foot arena was constructed using engineered wood mass timber in reflection of Idaho’s large wood industry. The university teamed up with local wood processing companies and used Idaho-area trees.
The arena will host Vandal men’s and women’s basketball games, concerts and other events. It seats roughly 4,200. There are two basketball courts, locker rooms featuring state-of-the-art technology with a digital touch pad for coaches, a coaches’ office and a meeting room.
It replaces the 93-year-old Memorial Gym.
