The 55,000-square-foot building is four stories plus a mechanical penthouse. Construction budget was $51 million.
It is a campus gateway with active learning classrooms and essential teaching labs for biology, chemistry, biochemistry and ecology. There are lab support spaces and a skybridge on the fourth floor connecting to the Biology Building.
The building is pursuing LEED Gold by targeting sustainable approaches and diverting 85% of construction waste from landfills.
