How owners look at construction risk

In the 1970s and 1980s, utilities undertook a series of nuclear projects that would have a devastating impact on the industry as a whole. What happened? The industry did not accurately identify risks inherent in the projects — a mistake for which some utilities are still paying.

There is no specific ratio of risk to return followed by all companies. Every industry and every company within that industry has a risk comfort level which they will not cross.
