Design Perspectives: The waterfront design process unfolds

  • Great design is not so much about transforming the environment as it is about making us feel as if we are seeing our city in a new way. The evolving waterfront plan has been carefully set up to do just that.

    Hundreds of people packed into the Bell Street Conference Center May 19 to hear James Corner give a pre-design vision of what the Seattle Central Waterfront could look like after the Alaskan Way Viaduct comes down.

    They seem to have found what they were looking for: folds.
