Center for Urban Waters' mission: show how clean water and economic growth are linked

The project team had to cut $5 million from the Center for Urban Waters design but still create a LEED platinum building. The process forced them to find more efficient ways to accomplish the same goals.

The goal for Tacoma's Center for Urban Waters is to create a LEED platinum pinnacle of sustainability that will teach and inspire others. But getting there has been a challenge, and included a complete redesign.
