Metro gets 170 new hybrid buses

The buses were funded in part by a $35.8 million federal stimulus grant.

The first of 170 new 40-foot King County Metro Transit hybrid-electric buses will be on the streets this week. King County Executive Dow Constantine said the new buses, in combination with Metro's existing green fleet, will save $4.6 million in fuel costs this year.
