SEATTLE — Ecology said four businesses currently working on an underground contamination cleanup in Georgetown are also proposing special cleanup projects in the area. Two projects would test cleanup technologies, and one would treat soil and groundwater at one location.
Ecology is taking comments through Oct. 31 on the plans and an amendment to a 2014 agreed order.
The cleanup site is bounded by Fourth Avenue South and the Duwamish Waterway, between South Lucile and Fidalgo streets. Solvents, metals and related compounds came from Burlington Environmental, Art Brass Plating, Blaser Die Casting Co. and Capital Industries.
Documents are available at Ecology's website, Seattle Public Library's South Park Branch and at Ecology's Bellevue office, 3190 160th Ave. S.E. Information is available from Ed Jones, Ecology site manager, at ed.jones@ecy.wa.gov or (425) 649-4449.
