Changes proposed after salmon return to Chelan River

Restoration work on the Chelan River, some of which can be seen here, has created a new home for summer chinook and steelhead.

Following a decade of restoration work, the Chelan River now has year-round water flows and new habitat for salmon spawning. Given that, the Department of Ecology said it is considering site-specific water quality standards that reflect the unique nature of the river.
