County buys green space in E. Renton

SEATTLE — In September, King County purchased more than an acre of wetland at the Cemetery Pond Open Space area in East Renton.

The purchase was made possible with the help of a first-of-its-kind community-vote funded investment of $50,000. The money comes from King County's new participatory budgeting process that gives voters a say in what community projects are prioritized for public spending and how those funds are used.
