23 salmon restoration projects win funding

The city of Bainbridge Island received $2.5 million to remove this culvert and weirs at Springbrook Creek and replace them with a 60-foot bridge.

Washingtonians can soon expect to see more salmon in rivers across the state, following the United States Department of Transportation's recent award of $58 million to 23 projects that will remove fish passage barriers to open up salmon migration routes and allow more salmon to return to their spawning grounds.
