Yesterday, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said it is proposing to add a site on the Upper Columbia River to its National Priorities List of hazardous waste sites, making it eligible for cleanup financed under the federal Superfund program.
The area under consideration covers about 150 miles of the Columbia River, from the Grand Coulee Dam to the U.S.-Canada border, and contaminated adjacent uplands.
