$4.8M for tribal boat electrification

OLYMPIA — The Tribal Electric Boats Program is awarding $4.8 million in grants to tribes to electrify and hybridize tribal fishing vessels, including boats that are used for research and patrol activities.

Applications are open until Oct. 23 for the 2025 program. Grants include marine charging equipment needed to power the boats and are funded by the Climate Commitment Act.
