VANCOUVER — The state Department of Ecology says that the Portland Vancouver Junction Railroad (PVJR) will pay a $31,058 penalty as part of a settlement over water quality violations at three Clark County construction sites.
Ecology says this resolves an appeal of a legal order the agency issued in spring 2024, which required PVJR to not pollute at three construction sites and to secure water quality permits. PVJR appealed Ecology's order and did not get the permits.
