Capitol Lake to be lowered as estuary design nears completion

Crews previously opened the water gate in July 2024 to complete early design surveying of the artificial Capitol Lake’s bed.

The water level of the artificial Capitol Lake on the Washington State Capitol Campus is set to be temporarily lowered next week so engineers can complete the final designs needed to restore the area to its estuary state.
