The Queen Anne neighborhood recently welcomed a new bar and restaurant at 2125 Queen Anne Ave N. Modeled after its namesake in San Francisco's Marina District, the Paragon Bar & Grill features American bistro cuisine, a full bar, and musical entertainment seven days a week. At 3,000 square feet, the facility includes seating for 65 in the dining room and another 25 in the bar. Renovations were completed by Construction Associates of Mountlake Terrace with the help of architect David Berman and a trio of Bay Area artists: Mark Bulwinkle, Heather Wicoxon and Michael Brennan. The "look" they created is one of an old tavern -- with plastered walls, beamed ceilings and a large, hooded fireplace. The tavern-theme goes back to the 1930s, when the original San Francisco Paragon building housed the Paragon Tavern. Paragon's executive chef is Nancy Flume, former executive chef of the Adriatica restaurant in Seattle.
