Engineering firm W&H Pacific has hired a new director of land development and director of land survey in its Boise office.

David Irish is director of land development and will be responsible for managing the firm's development services for residential, resort, commercial, retail and industrial development projects. Irish joined W&H Pacific from J.L Patterson & Associates and previously lived in Boise as an employee of Morrison Knudsen.

David Short has joined W&H Pacific as director of land survey for the Boise office. Previously, Short worked for the Idaho Transportation Department as district land surveyor for 12 years. Short's experience includes more than 26 years in land surveying and expertise implementing surveying technologies such as the use of global positioning satellite technology. The new land surveying group will provide mapping, boundary and gedectic control services for the firm's clients and support W&H Pacific's land development and transportation business lines. W&H Pacific has operated in Boise since 1990.
