Puyallup Tribe invests in lithium-free battery maker, builds production plant

Sierra Construction has tilted walls for an industrial building in Fife where battery components will be 3D printed.

The Puyallup Tribe has become the lead investor in Skip Technology, an energy storage company that aims to revolutionize the power grid with a liquid-membrane battery that uses bromine and hydrogen instead of lithium. The tribe is investing through its economic development arm — Puyallup Tribal Enterprises, or PTE.
