Port Orchard tests AI to speed permits

PORT ORCHARD, Kitsap County — The city of Port Orchard is conducting a one-year pilot program to help speed up residential building permit approvals.

The city announced yesterday that it has entered into an agreement with Permittable AI to test the Kirkland-based company's permit review diagnostic tools. These tools can be used by applicants to review permit application packets prior to submitting them to the city permitting department. Permittable will waive all fees during the pilot.
