GARFIELD — Partners for Rural Washington (PRWA) recently announced securing 2026 Clean Energy Award grants for rural communities. This year's PRWA grants will pay for increased solar power generation and storage in Harrington and Malden. Grants will be managed by Zero Emissions Northwest. Partners for Rural Washington is the state's federally designated Rural Development Council dedicated to partnering with rural communities, especially those with fewer than 1,000 residents.
Harrington will receive nearly $600,000 for its solar and battery resiliency project and the Malden nearly $146,000, also for solar resiliency.
