LONDON (AP) — Airlines were scrambling yesterday to dig out from the backlog triggered by technical problems experienced by the U.K. air traffic control system that have forced the cancellation of more than 2,000 flights.
The problems first surfaced on Tuesday. Flight delays continued on Wednesday as airlines rebooked stranded passengers and worked to reposition aircraft left at the wrong airports by the cancellations.
