SEATTLE — It's time to get your Santa on.
Thousands are expected to dress up as Santa this weekend as SantaCon hits the streets Saturday for a magical and absurd day of drinking, eating and merriment.
SantaCon is an annual gathering of people dressed in Santa Claus costumes, spreading goodwill and cheer as they assemble at locations around the city.
Festivities begin around noon and go until 2 a.m. More than 15 local venues will be participating, including Hard Rock Cafe, Triple Door, Pike Brewing, Fado, Owl N' Thistle and Merchants Cafe. There will be live entertainment, drink specials, costume contests and photographers.
Participants need to check in with staff, who will be wearing black clothing with blue hats, outside the participating venues. Wristbands are required. Tickets for the 21-and-over event can be purchased at http://www.eventbrite.com.
