Pirates to weigh anchor in Seattle

PORTAGE BAY — Seattle Yacht Club has announced the theme of its 2024 opening day is “Pirates & Pursuers.”

The yacht club's opening day event, to be held May 4, 8 a.m.-6 p.m., will draw more than 200 boats, decorated in the pirate theme, to parade through the Montlake Cut, including two vessels that fit the theme: the tall ships Lady Washington and the National Historic Landmark schooner Adventuress.
