Walla Walla to be a cruise hub

WALLA WALLA — The Port of Walla Walla is advancing a 20-year lease with American Cruise Lines to transform the Burbank High Dock into a new stop on the Columbia-Snake river system, pending final legal approval.

The agreement would give the cruise line access to about 2.2 acres and the dock facility, with upgrades already in late-stage design. Planned improvements include a paved loop road and dedicated loading area to handle traffic tied to a new 14-night river cruise itinerary launching in 2027, bringing visitors to regional attractions such as Walla Walla Valley wineries.
